Lisa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 22 years’ experience working with individuals, couples & families.  She graduated with honors from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon where she was awarded the first ever Stoll Community Service Scholarship & honored to deliver a graduation commencement speech.

She has been licensed and practiced in Oregon, Hawaii, & Montana giving her excellent experience working with a cross section of people and the different challenges they face.

Lisa uses EMDR(eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to treat individuals with a variety of issues such as PTSD, trauma,  anxiety and depression. For couples, she has used various couples modalities such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and recently became one of the first and very few certified Dialogue Therapists in the Country.

Lisa is excited about offering Dialogue Therapy to couples!

Dialogue Therapy disrupts our tendencies to dehumanize and create enemies with those closest to us, even during painful differences, when our trust is betrayed, or when our ideals of love are dashed.  Dialogue Therapy teaches deeper communication, listening & conflict resolution skills that are not dependent upon the therapist, and helps us better understand ourselves while bringing us closer in the relationships that matter most (our romantic partners, adult children, adult siblings, or parents).

Dialogue Therapy is a brand new technique developed by her mentor Polly Young-Eisendrath PH.D.

What Is Dialogue Therapy?

Couples therapy is notorious for failing because the members of the couple depend too much on the therapist. The deal with their conflicts only in the presence of the therapist. Dialogue Therapy, even from the first session, requires the couple to speak to each other and develop skills that do not depend on the therapist.
